Youngsters aged between 16 and 24 are more likely to book through a travel agent, the ABTA holiday survey conducted by Ipsos MORI has found.
A total of 45% of this age group said they had booked their last holiday in person with a travel agent.
A further 50% said they would use an agent, either online, by phone or in person.
The 25 to 44 age group were the most web savvy, with 68% using the internet to book their last trip.
Some 35% of the 702 people questioned book with a travel agent and 16% with a tour operator

Students flying home for holiday breaks, be it Thanksgiving, Christmas, or spring break, often find themselves waiting in long lines at airports. Most schools in the area are on similar calendars, and with the colleges in the city and surrounding area, Logan Airport around holiday season quickly becomes intolerable. This fall, Delta Airlines, in partnership with Clear, a traveler vendor, has instituted a Clear Pass program that will allow certain customers to bypass the normal security lines and move through traffic more quickly.
The Clear Pass program was started in early 2007 at a few airports around the nation. In the less than two years since, over 20 airports have adopted the Clear Pass program, including the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, which services over 89 million customers a year
